How do I get off the Missouri self-exclusion list?
Missouri's casino list (DAP) is lifetime placement, but you can petition for removal after five years. The separate sports-betting list (SEP) drops you automatically after five years.
- Can it be ended early?
- No. The term you pick is the term you serve.
- At the end of the term
- You stay on the list until you apply to come off. Reaching the end date on its own does nothing.
- 1 Stay on the DAP list for at least five years - there is no earlier route off it.
- 2 Petition the Missouri Gaming Commission for removal.
- 3 Know the one-way door before you file: if you are removed and later re-enroll, that placement is permanent, with no further removal ever.
Re-enrolling after a removal makes the ban permanent. The DAP covers casino gambling only - sports betting is the separate SEP list, which clears itself after five years.
Worth saying plainly: wanting off the list is not the same as being ready to gamble again, and the urge to check usually arrives long before the term does. What actually happens when people come off a self-exclusion list goes through that in full.
What should I watch out for with Missouri self-exclusion?
Placement is lifetime, but you may petition for removal after 5 years on the list; if you are removed and later re-enroll, placement becomes permanent with no further removal. The DAP List covers casino gambling only, not sports betting; Missouri maintains a separate List of Self-Excluded Persons (SEP) for sports wagering with automatic removal after 5 years. Is self-exclusion enough on its own in Missouri?
Missouri's program only binds operators licensed in the state — offshore sites and crypto casinos ignore it. The setup that holds is layered: self-exclusion, plus a ban inside each betting app you hold, plus a gambling blocker on your devices plus a gambling block on your bank card. Gambling across the Missouri line?
A state program only binds operators licensed in that state. If you drive to a casino or bet on an app registered next door, you need that state's ban too.
