The number printed in most US sportsbook ads. Since a 2025 New Jersey court ruling it is operated by the Council on Compulsive Gambling of NJ rather than the NCPG — still free, confidential and 24/7 by phone, text or chat.

Ban yourself from operators
State self-exclusion programs (US)
Most states let you legally ban yourself from casinos and betting apps for 1 year to lifetime. The NCPG keeps a state-by-state directory.
GamStop (UK)
One registration blocks you from every UK-licensed gambling site for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years — and it stays in force after that until you actively ask for it to be removed.
BetStop (Australia)
The national self-exclusion register: one sign-up blocks every Australian-licensed online and phone betting service, from 3 months to lifetime.
National registers (Europe)
Most European countries run one register that bans you from every licensed operator: France (ANJ interdiction de jeux), Germany (OASIS), Netherlands (CRUKS, 6 months minimum), Sweden (Spelpaus), Denmark (ROFUS), Spain (RGIAJ), Italy (RUA), Belgium (EPIS).
